Reviews
A quiet library. with families bringing their children and students preparing for their exams. It has a large area of children's books as well as educational games for them. They also have a section of books in English, for those who have not yet mastered the Dutch language. Quiet, cozy and always warm for the cold days in Zaandam.
They have a wide catalog, and you can go there to read a book or the daily newspapers they have.
They also have a coffee, tea and water machine, to enjoy a hot drink with views of the canal.
A highly recommended library to enjoy a quiet moment looking for books. With plenty of cultural offering.
In this library do they offer any free language courses, whether English or Dutch?
In this library, you can read magazines or find a quiet study place for free. However, a membership costs money for adults. Access to the toilets is locked to your membership so wet your pants if you don't have it. The lift is also poorly accessible because if someone leaves the door a tiny bit open it will not come down and in order to help me get up with the stroller a guy from the bakery had to run upstairs to close it. I was there with a 3 month old to organise a free membership but the customer service was not able to help me because I forgot the voucher they had sent at home. There was also no support to help raise your kids multilingual. Good thing the diaper kept dry until we got home again. Not too keen to return.
A small library on the first floor with enough options to choose from. There are also computers and printers that you can make use of or study places. The entrance is a bit shady/old though.
Here is literally a “kindergarten”, a very noisy place full of children and it’s more like a playground than a library. We asked the staff so many times and they said there’s no rule for the library to be “quiet”!!!!!
The children's section must be separated or at least shouldn’t have space for kids to play.
Great and cosy, relatively small library but they take all of them he cvd precautions while still being hospitable and welcoming.
The entrance could be made a bit more obvious though.
I highly recommend
Loved to read my book with this view. Also, many spots for study.
